Enhance the performance capabilities of CWDM applications over an OS2 fiber network
OS2 SC to SC Single Mode Simplex Fiber Optic Patch cable facilitates connectivity across 40G/100G networks. It supports Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) across an extended wavelength range of 1260-1625nm, improving channel isolation for optimal signal strength over long distances. Compatibility Connect to single-fiber networking devices including simplex patch panels, SFP transceivers, and fiber NICs. This 9/125µm OS2 simplex single mode fiber patch cord is backward compatible with OS1 networks, ensuring a reliable connection in legacy fiber environments. Engineered for Optimal Performance Precision-manufactured ceramic ferrules ensure accurate fiber alignment for an insertion loss below 0.3dB. Ultra Physical Contact (UPC)-polished SC to SC fiber ends greatly improve return loss characteristics over older PC polishing techniques. The Bend Insensitive fiber core is surrounded by a layer of low refractive index material. This material reduces the amount of light that can escape the fiber cable by reflecting the light back into the fiber. The OS2 fiber patch cord is engineered for low attenuation and performance that exceeds ITU-T G652.D/G657.A1 and IEC60703-2-50 type B1.3/B6.a1 industry standards. LSZH Cable Jacket Housed in a Low-Smoke Zero-Halogen (LSZH) flame-retardant jacket, the OS2 fiber cable emits low smoke and toxic fumes when exposed to extreme heat or in the event of a fire. This enables safer cable installations in areas with poor ventilation including some industrial settings, self-contained environments such as trains and aircraft, as well as residential settings where compliance with building codes must be considered. Each OS2 fiber cable is individually tested for insertion loss performance and includes a test report, for guaranteed compatibility and 100% reliability. The StarTech.com Advantage |
Crossover and straight-through cables are used in order to connect switch ports or interfaces to network devices. Consult this table in order to see when to use each of these cable types. Find the device in the left-hand column and match it up with another device in the top row. The intersection of these two devices gives you the cable type used to connect them together.

The Cisco StackPower cables are thick but flexible, and they carry power as well as a data signal to provide a communications channel among the switches in the power stack.
StackPower and XPS cables are keyed and have colored bands on the ends to help you understand what cable plugs into what switch or XPS. A StackPower cable has colors bands on the cable ends, green on one end and yellow on the other end. This cable can be used between Catalyst 3750-X switches and an XPS. Note that the connector with the blue band can only connect into a Catalyst 3750-X switch while the connector with the yellow band can connect to a Catalyst 3750-X or an XPS. An XPS cable has a color band on the cable ends as well, red on one end and yellow on the other end. This cable can only be used to connect Catalyst 3750-X or 3560-X switch to an XPS. Note that the connector with the red band can only connect to an XPS while the connector with the green and blue band can connect to Catalyst 3750-X or 3560-X switch. The Cisco Catalyst 3750-X Series Switches come with four power supply options and any of them can be used on any switch in a stack and in any combination. |
These 10G Passive SFP+ Twinaxial Direct Attach Cables are designed to support connections for 10 Gbps Gigabit Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet switches with 10 Gbps Gigabit Ethernet uplink, much more faster than SFP which only supports 2.5 Gbps Gigabit Ethernet. With two cable models including the DEM-CB100S and DEM-CB300S, these cables are suitable for short distances up to 3 metres, and is ideal for highly cost-effective networking connectivity between switches and servers within a rack or in adjacent racks. These 10G Passive SFP+ Twinaxial Direct Attach Cables are certified to be compatible with D-Link products to provide you best performance and reliability.
Ideal for High-Bandwidth Operations These D-Link 10G Passive SFP+ Twinaxial Direct Attach Cables support speeds of up to 10 Gbps, while having lower latency and power consumption than other cables types such as 10GBASE-CX4 and CAT6/CAT6A 10GBASE-T. This makes it an optimal solution for handling high bandwidth transmission within short distances such as inside energy-efficient data centres. Enhanced Small Form-factor Pluggable Format These D-Link 10G Passive SFP+ Twinaxial Direct Attach Cables use Enhanced Small Form- factor Pluggable format (SFP+) connectors. The SFP+ form factor is smaller than other form factors such as Xenpak, X2, and 10G XFP, resulting in lower costs, lower power disruption, and higher port density. Meanwhile SFP+ connectors use the same space-per-port as standard SFP connectors but support higher data transmission speeds. Save on Costs These D-Link 10G Passive SFP+ Twinaxial Direct Attach Cables feature SFP+ connectors on both ends, thus eliminating the need for expensive SFP+ transceivers. This makes it more cost-effective than fibre cables which must use SFP+ transceivers. |
Cisco StackWise-480 technology is built on the highly successful industry-leading StackWise® technology, which is a premium stacking architecture. StackWise-480 has a stack bandwidth of 480 Gbps. StackWise-480 uses Cisco IOS Software SSO for providing resiliency within the stack. The stack behaves as a single switching unit that is managed by an "active" switch elected by the member switches. The active switch automatically elects a standby switch within the stack. The active switch creates and updates all the switching/routing/wireless information and constantly synchronizes that information with the standby switch. If the active switch fails, the standby switch assumes the role of the active switch and continues to the keep the stack operational. Access points continue to remain connected during an active-to-standby switchover. A working stack can accept new members or delete old ones without service interruption. StackWise-480 creates a highly resilient single unified system of up to four switches, providing simplified management using a single IP address, single Telnet session, single CLI, auto-version checking, auto-upgrading, auto-configuration, and more. StackWise-480 also enables local switching in Cisco Catalyst 3850 Series Switches.
