Gigabit Ethernet to SFP Mini Media and Rate Converter
This standalone mini media and rate converter features 10/100/1000T to 100/1000x conversion with a SFP connector and supports from 220 m to 500 m. It is compatible with the MMCR18 rack-mount chassis. Copper to Fiber Mini Media and Rate Converters Overview The Allied Telesis MMC Series of mini media converters leverages its smaller size to not only help the environment with a small carbon footprint, but also to save space in its working environment. Despite its compact size, the MMC Series delivers all the power and functionality of standard size media converters. Extend Networks The MMC Series are available in 100Mbps or 1000Mbps models. Depending on the model chosen, the fiber-optic port has options for fixed SC, ST, LC or SFP connectors capable of multi-mode or single-mode fiber connectivity. The twisted-pair copper port has an RJ-45 connector supporting either 100Mbps or 1000Mbps, with a maximum operating distance of 100 meters (328 feet). VLAN Support Many new backbone switch products now support the industry-standard IEEE 802.1Q specification for Virtual LANs (VLANs) that send extra-long data packets on the network. The MMC Series are fully compatible with these long packets, enabling them to be used in modern networks. Media converters not supporting this feature discard these extra long packets, making them unsuitable for modern networks. Small and Flexible The smaller size and external power supply of the MMC Series allows them to be used almost anywhere. Smart MissingLink (SML) The Smart MissingLinkâ„¢ (SML) feature monitors network connections and provides notification when network segments fail, allowing network managers to quickly identify the source and location of failed segments and minimize downtime. Smart Link Restoration Smart Link restoration allows the devices, in cases of power failure, link loss or other interrupted service, to automatically restore the link without the need to restart/reset them. Power Saving The MMC Series continues the Allied Telesis commitment to the environment with over 50% power savings. With just 1.7W of power usage, the MMC Series media converters are some of the most efficient in the market today. Link Test The link test is a fast and easy way for you to test the connections between the media converter ports and the connected end nodes. If a network problem occurs, you can perform a link test to determine which port is experiencing a problem, and focus your troubleshooting efforts on the right cable or end node. |

100/100Mbps Downstream / upstream, high Performance Ethernet over VDSL Solution PLANET VC-231 is an Ethernet-over-VDSL2 Converter with high performance. It is designed based on two core networking technology, Ethernet and VDSL2 (Very-high-data-rate Digital Subscriber Line 2). The VDSL2 technology offers absolutely fastest data transmission speed over existing copper telephone lines without the need of rewiring. The VC-231 supports ultra-high performance to the pervasive telephone line network with up to 100/100Mbps symmetric data rate within 300m and 50/2Mbps for 1.4km long range connections. Implementing with Existing Telephone Copper Wires The VC-231 is also a Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) converter providing one RJ-45 Ethernet port and one RJ-11 phone jack that is for VDSL2 connection. By using the additional Splitter from package of VC-231, the splitter can provide POTS splitter to share the existing phone line with POTS; therefore it is no need of replacing the existing copper wiring. Just plug the VC-231 with additional splitter into the existing RJ-11 telephone jack and a high-performance VDSL2 network can be connected. The VC-231 is ideal to be used as an Ethernet extender to an existing Ethernet network. Delivering High-Demand Service Connectivity for ISP / Triple Play Devices The VC-231 provides excellent bandwidth to satisfy the triple play devices for home entertainment and communication. With the capability of 100/100Mbps symmetric data transmission, the VC-231 enables many multi-media services to work on the local Internet, such as VOD (Video on Demand), Voice over IP, Video phone, IPTV, Internet caching server, distance education, and so on. Easy & Flexible Installation The Ethernet-over-VDSL2 Converter comes with a plug-and-play design and is fully compatible with all kinds of network protocols. Moreover, the operating status of each individual port and the whole system can be watched via the rich diagnostic LEDs on the front panel. The VC-231 offers two modes, CPE and CO, for application: CPE mode is used at client side and CO mode is at central side. The CPE or CO mode can be adjusted by using a built-in DIP switch. For point-to-point connection, a CPE mode VC-231 and a CO mode VC-231 must be setup as one pair of converters to perform the connection. Providing Superior Upstream and Downstream Transmission Performance The VC-231 also defines symmetric band plan for the transmission of upstream and downstream signals, the band plan performs higher transmission quality in short range for central side (CO) in symmetric mode. In all, when the VC-231 is in profile 17a operation mode, it provides long distance transmit with Ultra-high performance to the pervasive telephone line network, and when the VC-231 is in 30a operation mode, it gives short distance transmits with upstream and downstream transmission giving wire speed performance.

PLANET IGTP-80xT Industrial Gigabit Media Converter combines Ethernet media conversion (from 1000BASE-X to 10/100/1000BASE-T) with 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) injector to deliver both up to 30 watts of power output and high data transmission speed to PDs (powered devices) installed in a remote area where sufficient and reliable power input is required. Its 1000BASE-X fiber optic uplink port provides long distance, high speed and stable data transmission to a remote core network. Being able to operate under the temperature ranging from -40 to 75 degrees C and with an IP30 rugged case, the IGTP-80xT can be placed in almost any difficult environment. Fiber-optic Link Capability Extends the Range of Network Deployment The maximum distance between a PoE PSE (power sourcing equipment) and PD via Ethernet cable is 100 meters. The IGTP-80xT’s fiber connector type is as follows: - IGTP-802T Fiber SC connector supporting 1000BASE-SX multi-mode and transmission distance up to 550m. - IGTP-802TS Fiber SC connector supporting 1000BASE-LX single-mode and transmission distance up to 20km. - IGTP-805AT SFP slot supporting 100BASE-FX/1000BASE-X multi/single mode SFP module and transmission distance up to 120km (Varying on SFP module). With the long fiber distance support, the IGTP-80xT still sustains the transmission performance as high as 1000Mbps. It works in the high-performance Store and Forward mechanism, and also can prevent packet loss with IEEE 802.3x flow control and the LFP (Link Fault Passthrough) function in the DIP switch design. Furthermore, it can immediately alert the administrators of the broken link and provide efficient solution to monitor the network power usage. Plug and Play High Power Sourcing Solution Complying with the IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus technology, the IGTP-80xT provides up to 30 watts of PoE output power, doubling that of the earlier 802.3af. It is also backward compatible with 802.3af PoE standards to allow users to flexibly deploy standard and high powered devices simultaneously with no need of software configuration. With data and Power over Ethernet from one unit, the IGTP-80xT can reduce cable deployment and eliminate the need for dedicated electrical outlets on the wall, ceiling or any unreachable place. Convenient and Reliable Power System To facilitate the 802.3at power PoE+ usage with the commonly-used 12~48V DC power input or 24V AC power input for transportation and industrial-level applications, the IGTP-80xT adopts the 12~48V DC to 52V power boost technology to solve power source issue but does not require special power supplies. Its wide-ranging voltages design is suitable for worldwide operability with high availability applications requiring dual or backup power inputs.
